Amelia's room

We finally finished Amelia's room! I'm so pleased with how it turned out. She'll room with us in the beginning, but when she is a little older and sleeping more through the night we'll move her into her room. Meanwhile, the boys love sharing a room. They love having bunk beds and being able to "sleep over" with each other every night.

Home renos

After months, and I do mean months, we are finally done with home renovations!

Due to some water damage back in February we found out we had two leaks in our windows. One in the front room of the house and one in the back room of the house. The front room window caused damage to the carpet and because the house was carpeted in one large piece the entire carpet needed to be pulled up. Josh and I figured if we were ripping up the carpet, we might as well lay something we like. This snow balled into a much larger project, which took place after we purchased the home in March.

First the window and leaks had to be repaired and we had exposed frame for several weeks. Once the leaks were taken care of and the dry wall replaced the house was painted. We went from a boring tan color to a light gray with several blue feature walls. In order to prepare for the paint and eventually the floor we basically had to pack up the entire downstairs. It was interesting to say the least. We basically lived in the upstairs for a few months.

Then we had the floors ripped out and the tile removed. We had engineered bamboo floor put in throughout the entire downstairs, up the stairs and in the upstairs hallway.

Once the floors were in we realized that the cabinets just didn't look right with the wall color or the floor, so we painted those white and added hardware.

The biggest change and the longest wait was the new counter tops. We chose a hi-max acrylic top and it was delayed over and over again. We were told it would be installed before the end of August and wasn't actually done until mid September.

Getting everything back into the house and in place was a long process, especially while so pregnant, but fortunately Josh did a lot of the work and we got it all done!

And now I get to enjoy it for a few weeks before we welcome our newest addition!

Maternity photos

Our amazing photographer, Susie captured some amazing pictures of our family as we prepare for the arrival of baby Amelia!

It was so humid and hot outside, but my guys did a great job! I'm so happy with the way they turned out!!

Second Trimester

Baby girl is kicking my butt! Before we found out that we were having a girl I swore that this pregnancy was so different. I was so sick all the time. Not the rolling nausea I had with Declan and Silas. I gagged and felt awful every morning and it lasted until mid evening daily. The morning sickness finally subsided around 26 weeks. I feel tired and worn out no matter what time I go to sleep or how much sleep I get. And I recently found out I have gestational diabetes. The plus side is that I shouldn't gain much more weight, but I will have to take my blood sugar four times a day and if I can't control it with diet I will have to take medication, which I'm not super thrilled about.

I know it will all be worth it when I get to hold my sweet baby though!

GIRL!!!

Both boys are so excited to be having a sister! I am still in disbelief! I had myself convinced we would have three boys, but we'll be adding tutus and bows and lots of pink, I'm sure, to our home.

First trimester down!

We are so surprised by our wonderful news! Josh and I had tried for about a year to have another baby and we told in November that it wouldn't likely happen without some intervention. We decided that we had two wonderful children and that we didn't need to go through IVF, IUI or AI when we were already blessed with two babies. Instead we decided to get a puppy. Jasper was born in December and came home in February. He had been home for a week when I realized I was "late" and peed on a stick.

I was shocked and walked into the bedroom and told Josh that he must of needed a challenge and then showed him the test. It took a lot not to let the secret slip. In fact my sister was the first to call me out and I asked her not to tell anyone. And then I suffered some major pregnancy brain and forgot to tell my brother about bridging some childcare for us and told him and my sister in law as well. I really wanted to wait until after my sister in law had her baby, but I started showing way early so we told family before Easter.

Home owners!

We bought a house! Well, we bought the house we were renting, so we don't have to move! Andi and John have graciously let us rent from them for the last 6 years and today we bought the house from them!

And now we renovate!
